Panalpina opens new warehouse in Prague for MAHLE
On May 14 Panalpina held the opening ceremony for its new 21,000 m2, 28-bay warehouse in Prague, Czechia. Two-thirds of the warehouse capacity is dedicated to MAHLE, a leading international development partner and supplier to the automotive industry as well as a pioneer for the mobility of the future, headquartered in Germany.

DSV and Clarks open first facility on mainland Europe

Panalpina opens new logistics center in Singapore
Panalpina has opened a new, purpose-built logistics center in Singapore. Strategically located at Pioneer View, the facility offers 25,800 m2 of usable warehouse space, a unique yard and container storage on the rooftop, state-of-the-art automation and air conditioning on all six floors.
Panalpina and Saudi conglomerate Al Rushaid agree to joint venture
Al Rushaid is one of Saudi Aramco’s main suppliers and a large Saudi conglomerate which provides services through partnerships in many different industries including oil and gas, manufacturing and construction. Pending regulatory approval, Panalpina will be tasked with managing the logistical aspects of Al Rushaid’s subsidiaries and joint ventures.
More space for more opportunities in Prague
Panalpina has grown fast in Czechia the last few years. To keep pace with demand, the company decided to consolidate its three warehouses into one facility of almost 7,000 m2 within the modern logistics center in Pavlov, close to Vaclav Havel Airport Prague. Moving to this strategic location allows Panalpina to distribute shipments to customers across Europe and the globe more efficiently.
Rise and shine
Panalpina was recently contracted by Salini Impregilo (ISJV), a leading global construction firm, to transport the two main towers of a new rail bridge for Sydney Metro, Australia’s biggest public transport project. Transport for NSW, the authority that manages the transport services in the state of New South Wales, Australia and owns the project, tasked ISJV to build the bridge.
83,000 new m2 of warehouse in Venlo, Netherlands
DSV recently acquired an additional 140,000 m2 of land adjacent to its facilities in Venlo, Netherlands. The lot is to be developed with a further 83,000 m2 of warehouse.
Shout it from the rooftop
Panalpina is building a brand new logistics facility in Singapore. As the company celebrates 40 years of doing business in Singapore, this is the largest ever warehousing investment outside Europe in the company’s history. The building features a unique yard and container storage on the rooftop, state-of-the-art automation and air conditioning on all floors.
Panalpina’s single warehouse management system key to growing business
Panalpina has reached a new milestone in the roll-out of its single warehouse management system JDA across all of its logistics facilities around the world. The 50th site went live with JDA WMS in France. Shortly before that, JDA WMS was implemented at facilities in the USA and Belgium. The sites in Newtown and Brussels are part of a global distribution network for the healthcare customer IBA.
The Port House in Antwerp with its distinct buildings and triangular facets epitomizes the growth and strategic location of the Port of Antwerp. The Belgian box port is the second busiest in Europe, nestled in a region that boasts one of Europe’s best multimodal infrastructures. Only 500 m away, still within the port, Panalpina is turning its warehouse into a GDP certified pharma center.
Bruno is pretty upbeat these days. A few weeks ago, he reached an agreement with Belgium-based medical device company IBA. Panalpina will soon be offering comprehensive value-added warehousing and global transportation services to IBA from its hub at Brussels Airport. For this purpose, a new 2,800 m2 facility is being built. Construction is about to begin.
DSV further expands warehousing footprint in The Netherlands
DSV’s contract logistics division announced the investment in a 41,000 m2 warehouse + 15,000 m2 mezzanine facility in ‘s Heerenberg located on the German border. The new facility is planned to be operational in December 2016 and could potentially add 100 jobs to the 200 staff members currrently employed by DSV in 's Heerenberg.
DSV's new super centre in Germany officially inaugurated
DSV Krefeld is home to all three divisions in a very central location in the North Rhine-Westphalia area, close to the A57 Motorway, Düsseldorf Airport as well as the Belgian and Dutch borders. The new site replaces the former DSV locations in Düsseldorf, Duisburg, Neuss, Nettetal and Willich.
