Panalpina expands Perishables Network into Germany

Panalpina is expanding its Perishables Network into Germany. Panalpina has entered into an agreement with the Cool Chain Group, Germany (CCG), taking over business and a team that is specialized in international air freight and the import of perishables. The deal will further strengthen the Panalpina Perishables Network in Europe and the company’s global end-to-end offering for fresh produce.

Three long-standing agents of Panalpina are becoming full members of the company’s Perishables Network. During Fruit Logistica in Berlin, Panalpina and the agents Cropa (Guatemala and Honduras), MIT Cargo (Sri Lanka) and TML (Pakistan) have agreed to intensify their cooperation in order to create new end-to-end solutions for customers and expand the perishables business.

Panalpina’s hub at Luxembourg Airport has been officially licensed by Certisys to handle organic fruits and vegetables. With Luxembourg (Certisys) and Amsterdam (SKAL), Panalpina now has two airport locations in Europe that are licensed for the handling of organic perishables. Both are directly connected to the tarmac, ensuring the shortest possible route between aircraft and transit storage.

Die Übernahme folgt auf den Kauf von Airflo durch Panalpina im Jahr 2016 und positioniert Panalpina als einen der Marktführer für den Transport von verderblicher Ware in Kenia.

Der weltweite Transport von Frischwaren stellt einen riesigen Markt dar, in dem Panalpina die Marktführerschaft anstrebt. Interfresh ist auf die Zollabfertigung und Zustellung importierter Frischwaren aus Afrika, der Region Asien-Pazifik und aus Lateinamerika spezialisiert. Die Akquisition ist ein weiterer bedeutender Schritt auf dem Weg hin zum globalen Perishables Network und einem weltweiten Angebot für End-to-End-Lösungen.

Panalpina dehnt sein Perishables Network auch auf Deutschland aus. Panalpina ist mit der Cool Chain Group (CCG) eine Vereinbarung eingegangen, wonach das Unternehmen einen Teilbetrieb und ein Team, das auf internationale Luftfracht und den Import von Frischwaren spezialisiert ist, übernehmen soll.
