Panalpina expands its network of GDP-certified sites
Straight from bagging Good Distribution Practice (GDP) certifications for 11 sites in 2018, Panalpina expects to get over 10 sites certified to GDP in 2019. Panalpina leaders meet in Berlin
Around 100 leaders of Panalpina met in Berlin this week for the company’s annual leadership conference. The topics on the jam-packed two-day agenda focused on the company’s four-pillar strategy, targets, digital innovation and Panalpina’s leadership culture and spirit. Cross-energy management for a balanced mix with thyssenkrupp
Renewables are an important part of the energy mix, and Panalpina is putting significant resources into the sector. Panalpina’s Energy and Project Solutions recently secured three key contracts to manage a total of six projects in Australia – five solar farms and a biomass power plant. The projects, including one by thyssenkrupp, will transform the renewable energy sector in the country.

Fruit Logistica 2018 in Berlin is history, but the global appetite for perishables persists. On the first day of the most important exhibition for the international trade of fresh produce, Panalpina’s Colin Wells elaborated on the global trends for the supply and demand of fruits and vegetables.
A short window for extra-long pipes
One of Panalpina’s oil and gas customers is currently engaged in a 15-year drilling program in Oman. The customer enlisted a big steel manufacturer, to supply 62 kilometers of gas pipeline to support the project. Fast track development meant the customer required longer than usual pipes. To ensure timely shipment of this irregular-shaped cargo, Panalpina’s expertise was called upon.
Panalpina expands exclusive LCL ocean freight offering
Less than Container Load (LCL) services are an important tool for shippers to optimize their international supply chains. Expanding and improving the global LCL network therefore remains a key priority for Panalpina and it now offers four sailings per week from Shanghai to Singapore, an industry first, and two new exclusive services from Egypt to Singapore and from India to Switzerland via Italy.
