US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) carried out an audit and re-validation of Panalpina’s CTPAT standing as a consolidator and broker. CTPAT is a public-private sector partnership program which recognizes that CBP can provide the highest level of cargo security only through close cooperation with the principle stakeholders of the international supply chain.
Panalpina wins large five-year contract with oil and gas major for Iraqi project

Panalpina has gained its largest award with a specific oil and gas major to date. The company was awarded with a long-term contract to manage transportation for a gas project in Iraq. The contract will run over a minimum of five years and involve high air and LCL (less than container load) ocean freight volumes. Work has already begun.

Brazil receives exceptionally large, urgent pharmaceutical shipment

Panalpina recently delivered an exceptionally large shipment of pharmaceutical products to Brazil. A cargo plane took off from Frankfurt airport carrying 187 pallets of temperature-sensitive cargo, destined for Brasília International Airport. The shipment was an urgent order from the Brazilian Ministry of Health.

Panalpina had to operate with a steady hand earlier this year as it assisted in the transportation of some very delicate cargo. For the Ichthys LNG Project, several large air cooled condensers (ACCs) were carefully lowered into place. With a very restrictive error margin, the team had to make sure the lifts were conducted with absolute precision.
