Cementing valuable relationships at the TPM ocean freight event

Panalpina's Ocean Freight team turned out in full force at this week's Trans-Pacific Maritime Conference (TPM) in Long Beach, CA, USA, which was attended by thousands of the top importers, carriers and freight forwarders in the trade lane. Three of Panalpina's leaders share thoughts on their key take-home messages from TPM19.

Attended by thousands of the top Trans-Pacific importers, carriers and freight forwarders, the Trans-Pacific Maritime Conference (TPM) provides a unique opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions that drive business in the trade lane.

Panalpina sponsored the event again this year and sent leaders from around the globe who agreed to share their thoughts on what they found to be the most valuable takeaway from TPM19.

It is always a pleasure meeting and talking with customers, but when we are able to interact with them in this type of setting accompanied by top caliber executives in their fields, the value is incomparable. Sitting on a panel with John McCauley from Cargill, Jeremy Nixon from One Network Express and Kim Vaccaro from Home Depot allows all of us and our customers, suppliers and subcontractors to learn from each other and have meaningful dialogue that will ultimately help us all to grow and thrive.

I look forward to returning next year for more opportunities to learn and share while expanding our reach within the trade.

TPM is a phenomenal event that facilitates strategic discussions between customers, forwarders, partners and subcontractors. The number of relationships we have been able to build and grow over the course of sponsorship these last three years could not be duplicated in any other forum.

The insights and knowledge the team gains from the sessions is also incalculable. Attending the sessions with customers and partners allows us to build better solutions that will drive the future of the trade.

I’m excited for what the year will bring and the new connections we’ll make at TPM20!

This was my first year attending TPM and the time we were able to spend with our customers discussing their needs and possible solutions over a three-day period was outstanding. This is a critical trade lane for Panalpina and I am eager to use the exceptional knowledge we gained at TPM19 to help our customers maximize this route to its full potential.
